Effetto Mariposa - the science of details -

Recent reviews on cyclingnews.com and bikeradar.com have pointed out, on one hand the outstanding cutting performance of Carbocut, on the other its very high retail price, especially in the US.
Why is it so? Is Effetto Mariposa becoming greedy? The answer is 'no'.

Several reasons contributed to the 74,95 USD retail price:

the Dollar-to-Euro weakness (1€=1,60 USD) when the price was set, earlier in 2008;
high oil price at the time, increasing the already expensive transportation fees from Italy to overseas;
the usual 'bike accessory' price structure this product fell in, despite being more a 'shop tool' than a retail item (that's why the -many- shops buying Carbocut for their mechanics didn't complain... they payed much less).

Effetto Mariposa is working constantly to improve its products in terms of performance and quality/price ratio: rest assured that we'll do our best to keep prices reasonable and adapt them as fast as possible to the changing 'external' conditions.
